Pupil Premium
George Spicer Primary is a larger than average, inclusive school serving a diverse community within Enfield. All of our pupils are valued as individuals and we strive to provide a supportive and nurturing environment where they all feel safe and are able to achieve their full potential.
The Pupil Premium Grant is a government initiative providing schools in England with additional funding to support and raise the attainment of specific groups of children who might otherwise be disadvantaged. This includes the following groups:
- Pupils who are entitled to Free School Meals due to qualifying benefits
- Pupils who have been eligible for Free School Meals at some time during the last 6 years
- Pupils who have a parent in the armed services
- Pupils that are, or have been, looked after by the Local Authority or are adopted
Our key objective at George Spicer is to use this funding to eliminate barriers to learning and progress, in order to diminish the differences between pupil groups. Our strategy includes providing quality first teaching for all pupils, alongside targeted support and group interventions, which focus on accelerated progress of our Pupil Premium children. Part of our pupil premium spend also includes meeting the social, emotional and mental health needs of our pupils and providing suitable personal development guidance and activities.
