Actual Salary Range: £19,115 - £20,527 p.a. inclusive (Scale 4)

Teaching can be a highly rewarding and challenging profession. At George Spicer, we feel that the optimal route into teaching starts with the Graduate Teaching Assistant role.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual, who is passionate about working with all children of primary age and show a determination to see them flourish academically, socially and emotionally. Candidates should have a strong growth mind-set, who are self-reflective and able to thrive in an environment which positively challenges their practice.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our forward thinking team. This opportunity is the perfect entry for a graduate with a first or second class UK degree (or equivalent) looking to begin their teaching journey. If you are interested in this role, you will see it as a gateway for becoming a qualified teacher. This role will equip you with the skills and experience to apply for a Post Graduate Teacher Training course the following year.

We are excited to be able to offer a year long, bespoke, Graduate TA Training Programme. During this time, you will be given increased teaching opportunities of both groups and whole class. To aid your development, you will be given time out of class to observe high quality practice and planning. You will be given a mentor and a link teacher across two key stages within the year for support.

At George Spicer, we teach an exciting and honest curriculum which engages our diverse community. We are proud to be a Rights Respecting Gold Award school and we aim to make our pupils ‘Global Citizens’ by linking our learning to the UNCRC and Global Goals. Similarly, we aim to offer a broad curriculum in which all subjects are valued and taught to a high standard. As a school, we celebrate the creativity and innovation of teachers by allowing them ownership over areas of the curriculum. As a result, we can offer pupils who are keen to learn and motivated to succeed.
