George Spicer Bulletin - 02/10/2026

On what will be a tough and emotional day for many within our school community, we, as a school, send you our thoughts and best wishes.

Packed Lunch Reminder:

We will be carrying out a packed lunch audit over the next few days. Please ensure your child does not bring nuts or nut products, and avoid excessive sugary snacks and drinks. As a nut-free school, we follow the allergy safety principles of Benedict's Law to help keep all children safe.

Thank you for your support.

Harvest Festival:

We will be holding our annual Harvest assembly on Monday 5th October.    If you are able to donate and support our local Enfield Foodbank please send your donations to school on Monday 5th October.  Further information:  https://enfield.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/

Suggested items:

Parent Consultation Evening:

Parent Consultation Evening bookings are now live. Appointments will be held face-to-face in school.

If you have not yet booked your appointment, please log in to Arbor. If you are experiencing any difficulties, please contact the school office and we will be happy to help. We look forward to seeing you. 😊

Flu Vaccinations:

The immunisation team are coming to George Spicer Primary School on Wednesday 07 October and Tuesday 17 November to give pupils their annual flu vaccinations.

We would like your consent to vaccinate your child. You can respond by filling in our online consent form through this link: https://www.manage-vaccinations-in-schools.nhs.uk/consents/RUE5CPTYxa/flu/start

For more info: https://www.nhs.uk/vaccinations/child-flu-vaccine/

Welfare Team Request:

Our Welfare room is currently running low on tissues. If you can donate a box or two, we would be very grateful. Please drop any donations off at the school office.

Spelling Practice at Home:

Our KS2 children now have their own login for Essential Spelling and Word Knowledge, a great resource to help them practise the spelling and spelling rules they are learning in school. Each week, children will be set spellings to practise at home. We would encourage parents and carers to support children with regular, short practice sessions to help build their confidence and make sure those tricky spellings stick!

School Safer Streets

Whether you are new to our school or already familiar with our School Streets, here is some useful information about travelling to school safely. Our School Street on Sketty Road and Craddock Road operates Monday to Friday during term time, from 8:30–9:15am and 2:45–3:45pm. During these times, motor vehicles should not enter the School Street zone unless they have an exemption. Please travel safely to school by walking, wheeling, cycling, using public transport or Park and Stride where possible.

We are fortunate to have convenient Park and Stride locations just a short walk from both school sites. Please see the attached map, which shows the School Street area and Park and Stride locations and decide which option works best for you.

Please help us keep the journey to school safer, healthier and less congested by walking, wheeling, cycling, using public transport or Park and Stride where possible.
