I would also like to thank the 72 adults who have completed the Annual Report Feedback Survey – helping us improve communication about your children’s achievements and areas to develop; ensuring you can play an active part in their school journey.  If you would like to help us improve then please fill out the survey Annual Report Feedback – Fill in form

Reception

This week Reception have been excited to talk about their holiday news. The children have been practising using full sentences orally to rehearse their ideas, before writing them down. In our Maths learning, we have been reconsolidating teen numbers. Understanding how a teen number is composed, as well as practising number formations.

Year 1

This week in Year 1, the children enjoyed using globes to explore where different countries are in the world. They learned about the equator and compared places that are closer to it with those that are further away, noticing how location can affect climate and weather. This hands‑on activity helped develop their geographical vocabulary and sparked lots of curiosity and thoughtful discussion about our world.

Year 2

This week Year 2 have been learning about how different religions and world views care for people. We explored the British Values and how these link to the UNCRC. The children identified which rights show care and understanding and how these allow people to express their uniqueness.

Over the past few weeks in D&T, the children have been designing and planning the construction of a pen pot. This week, we began making our pen pots, ensuring they are sturdy and functional. Next, we will be decorating them in bright colours of our choice.

Year 3

Year 3: Writing - Tea apprentices.

This week, Year 3 has embarked on an exciting journey as tea apprentices! In our Writing sessions, we are exploring a delightful new book that revolves around tea. We’ve been honing our skills in describing the wonderful smells and tastes of various teas.

Our budding writers have been busy crafting labels for their own unique tea blends. Ava impressed us all with her creative label: “A hint of peach with some orange and an aroma of mint that will make you feel energetic like the Flash.” We can’t wait to see what other imaginative descriptions our budding writers will come up with!

Year 4

This week Year 4 began a new book in our writing lessons, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by  C.S. Lewis. We began the week by travelling to Narnia. A cold, dark environment with lots of trees and covered in snow. This is where we listened to the first chapter being read. Later in the week we learned about using relative clauses and compared Lucy's world with the world of Mr Tumnus. We are very excited to read more about the White Witch!

Year 5

As part of our learning around Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child – the right to play – Year 5 pupils took part in an exciting Soccer Aid–inspired event. The children enjoyed a fun-filled goal scoring and celebration workshop, where teamwork and energy were in full display.

Working in their coloured house teams, pupils competed to earn as many points as possible across a range of challenges, including a penalty shoot-out, hoop throw, knock down the wicket, and hit the cones. It was fantastic to see how well each team collaborated, encouraging and supporting one another throughout the activities.

The event was not only a great way to stay active and healthy, but also gave pupils the chance to be creative – even inventing their own unique goal celebration poses! Well done to everyone for their enthusiasm and teamwork.

Year 6

This week, Year 6 have been continuing with preparing for their transitions to secondary school through their PSHE lessons based on their own personal well-being.

We have focused in particular on some of the risks we might face when leaving primary school and as we get older. These risks have included gangs, where we have considered why gangs are dangerous and how to make the correct social choices as we get older.

KS1 and KS2 Ambassadors

In the Autumn Term,  our KS1 and KS2 Ambassadors were invited to participate in a short film to promote School Streets in Enfield.  Please take a look at our stars of the future by clicking the link here.

We always encourage our families to use sustainable modes of transport to travel to and from school.  Our School Street keeps the road clearer and safer for everyone.  We have several convenient Park and Stride locations a short stroll away from the school gates.  Use any of the carparks in George V playing fields or the carpark by the restaurants and leisure center on Southbury Road.
