Important information

** Be prepared! Please ensure that your children arrive with everything that they need for the school day.  We cannot accept late items, such as water bottles, once the day has started as we are unable to pass them to the classrooms. **

Please remember on PE days that children must wear full, correct PE kit.  Long hair needs to be tied back (boys too), no jewellery, earrings to be removed or taped before coming to school.

All water bottles should only have water in them, no squash/juices.

Quote of the week

“I've been absolutely terrified every moment of my life and I've never let it keep me from doing a single thing that I wanted to do.” ― Georgia O'Keefe

Loaned laptops to be returned

Please can all families that were loaned laptops during lockdown return them to the school offices as soon as possible, so that they can be used by all children in school. Thank you.

Red Nose Day 19.3.2021

For Red Nose Day this year, children will be submitting their favourite jokes to their teachers.  We will be publishing a selection of these in the newsletter next week.  Please help your child send in their best jokes early next week!

School Streets still needs your help

School Streets has been marshalled by staff and some willing parent volunteers so far.  It’s proving very successful for the community and families, so we really want this to continue.  We do need more volunteers from parents and carers to support this, so please get in touch, even if you’re only able to do a couple of days a week.

Please do NOT drive on Sketty Road or approach the school via Craddock Road, Mafeking Road, Kimberley Gardens Road or Clydach Road between 8.30-9.05am and 2.50-3.35pm. Thank you for your cooperation to keep everyone safe.

Park and stride is available (see below). You cannot park within the road closure when the barriers are out.  Using park and stride not only keeps Sketty Road clear but is a great way to fit in some physical activity on your way to and from school.

Miss Spillman's Esafety tips

What does the report button do?

There are loads of great websites and Apps where you can play and chat with other people online. But it’s important that places online like this, where people spend time together, are safe and fun for everyone. This means that everyone needs to follow the rules and be respectful.  It's encouraged to report issues to the owners of the App or website to improve their security as well as yours.

If your child is scared of something they have seen online, the BBC has released several short videos about staying safe online.  The is called 'BBC own it'.

FoGs News

Have your children outgrown their uniform during lockdown?

Would you consider exchanging clean, outgrown uniform with other families?

We thought that this post could be used by anyone who has uniform to give it anyone that has anything they are looking for.

You could then contact each other and arrange to collect in a Covid secure way.

FoGs would usually accept donations for our pre-loved uniform sales, but unfortunately we are unable to do that at the moment, so we thought this way, we could support the school community.

If you have anything you would like to offer, please feel free to post details within our closed Facebook group. Please note, all items should be offered for free, but a donation to FoGs is always accepted 😂

Alternatively, if you are ordering new uniform online, don’t forget to go through Easyfundraising first.  If you shop at places like TU, Marks and Spencer and George at Asda the school will receive a donation just from you ordering.

Please note we have a date change for our AGM meeting:

Tuesday 27th April 2021
