Quote of the week

“Spring: a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be.  The magic in new beginnings is truly the most powerful of them all.”  Josiyah Martin

School Uniform

Please remember that full school uniform and PE kit need to be worn from next week. PE days are listed in this newsletter. There are some second hand items in school, so if you need help, please contact us with details of the items and sizes that you need.

Are your contact details up to date?

If you have moved house during lockdown, or any of your contact details have changed, please email us with updated details – mobile number, email address and postal address all need to be kept up to date at the school.

Breakfast & After School Club

Breakfast & After School Club registers are being finalised at present. This is currently for families who need club to be able to continue their work. Next term, we plan to re-open club to all families, as well as some of our additional extra-curricular clubs.

School Dinners

A reminder that school meals will return as normal from Monday with the usual menu range of hot meals.  Any changes that need to be made between school dinners and packed lunches needs to be done by Friday (tomorrow) at the latest via the school office email.

Year 4's Science learning

In Year 4, we have been learning about sound; how it travels and which medium is the best for it to travel in.

We made string telephones and did a 'scratching' investigation on a table to show that sound travels better through a solid (the string / table) than it does through the air!

So much fun to experiment and learn!

Year 4 Bubble - Art

In Year 4, we have been looking at art with a space focus.  Look at these 'out of this world' pieces that have been produced!

World Book Day

The children both at school and home celebrated World Book Day today.  Here is a collage of some of the children dressed up as their favourite characters.  Year 3 enjoyed their reading for pleasure dressed up as Basiisk, Eliza Boom and Harry Potter

Miss Spillman’s Esafety tips

Disney+ has added a new tile to its platform, called Disney+ Star.  This is aimed at an adult audience.  To accommodate this change, Disney has now added the ability to make a profile where you can set the age of different viewers, stopping children from viewing star content.  Please ensure that if your children are using Disney+ that their profiles are set up appropriately.

One film on Disney+ that you should be aware of is Deadpool 2. This is suitable for 18+ and definitely not appropriate for children.

SafeToNet is an app for parents that help safeguard their children from online risks.  During the current COVID-19 outbreak, the SafeToNet foundation is providing free-for-life access to the app for all parents.  For more details:
