I’m Jo and my youngest son is at George Spicer in year 4. My eldest son left year 6 in the summer and is now at Kingsmead School.

I was a member of the Friends of George Spicer School (FoGS) for several years and was the Chair between April 2017 and April 2020. During my time as Chair, the school grew to almost full capacity and the FoGS team held many community events, raising and donating approximately £95,000 to the school for the benefit of the children in all years (and beyond).

Professionally, I am the Director of Learning at the Royal College of Pathologists and oversee the standards for training and examinations of doctors and Clinical Scientists training to be consultant pathologists in the UK; helping to ensure there are enough pathologists trained to the correct standard to safely diagnose, treat and prevent a range of diseases.

I am contributing the knowledge I have built up of the school from my FoGS experience and my professional expertise to the governing body. I will be working with the other governors to ensure that all children at George Spicer are supported as they grow, develop and learn to be the best that they can be.
