Mr P Page - Chair and Safeguarding Governor
I joined the Governing Body in 2013 and was elected Vice Chair two years later. In 2017 I was elected Chair of Governors and subsequently re-elected in 2020. I also Chaired the Finance and Staffing Committee for two years.
My governor training has included Safer Recruitment, Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Exclusions Management and Financial Management. I participate in senior staff recruitment and it is my responsibility to ensure the School follows the required Safer Recruitment procedures. Currently I am the School's Safeguarding and Child Protection Governor and I chair the Vulnerable Children Strategic Group which reports to the Governing Body.
Since I became a governor the School has doubled in size and now functions from two sites. I was heavily involved in working with the Council to ensure the new Kimberley Gardens site was fit for purpose.
I headed up the Governor Selection Panel during the comprehensive and exhaustive appointment process which resulted in the appointment of Mr Spong, following Mrs. Ballantine's retirement in 2019.
Having begun my working life in local government I reached the position of Strategic Director in an inner London borough. Following this I spent time with the Audit Commission and ultimately I set up my own Management Consultancy specialising in public sector and interim management. This led me to numerous strategic management roles in local authorities across the country. Having retired I have taken the opportunity to use my skills in a worthwhile and extremely important public service. I am a Trustee and Management Committee member of The Enfield Society.
I was born in Edmonton and I have lived in the Borough all my life. I attended the Latymer Grammar School following earlier years at Huxley Primary and Junior Schools (now Aylward). I have a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Diploma in Municipal Administration.
